Accommodations
We have reserved a block of rooms at the LaQuinta Inn at the Capitol, a mid-priced hotel close to the center of Austin and just five miles from the airport. Within walking distance of this hotel, you can find tourist attractions, night life, and over 75 restaurants. To make a reservation at the LaQuinta Inn at the Capitol, call 1-800-NU-ROOMS (1-800-687-6667) and mention the Wedding Reservation Block # 9071-8023. We reserved rooms for the nights of Friday, May 21 through Sunday, May 23. If you will be arriving earlier or leaving later than this, the discounted rate can be extended to your entire stay if you ask for it when you make your reservation. For details about this hotel's amenities and policies, see laquinta.com, but reservations have to be made by phone and not on their web site.
If the LaQuinta Inn does not fit your needs, Austin has many other options available. The search engine at austin.citysearch.com can link you up to a number of hotels or bed and breakfasts in all areas of Austin. A word of caution, however: The University of Texas, the local university which has a student population of over 50,000, will be holding its graduation on Saturday, May 22, so other options may be limited.
